Turning the Tide on Laundry and Why a Clean Space Inspires a Clear Mind

Do you also loathe laundry?
Don’t get me wrong—it has gotten better over time. But laundry and I? We will never be best friends.
Collecting dirty clothes is easy. Sorting? That takes just a few minutes. But somehow, what could be one simple load turns into possibly three. And that’s just for me—one person. I can’t imagine the laundry mountain that comes with a growing family. (Though, to be fair, tiny socks are undeniably adorable.)
You get the point: laundry is my arch-nemesis. But I’ve found a way to make it—dare I say...fun.
Yes, fun.
The part I dreaded most was putting clothes away. Until one day, I turned it into a game. I set a 15-minute timer and challenged myself to sort as much as I could—shirts to hang, clothes to fold, pants, socks, you name it. Once sorted, I walk away. Not for long, but just long enough to reset.
Then I come back, set another 15-minute timer, and finish the job—hanging and organizing everything in its rightful place. Suddenly, the whole task doesn’t feel like such a chore.
This small shift in mindset has changed more than just laundry day. It reminded me of an important truth: cleaning doesn’t have to be miserable.
In fact, it can be freeing.
When we approach cleaning with lightness and creativity, it transforms from a burdensome task into a chance to reset. A clean home is more than just a tidy space—it’s a clear mind. It’s a space where stress can take a backseat and calm can move in.
And the same is true for workspaces.
At work, a clean and organized environment makes a huge difference. People feel more focused, less stressed, and more motivated. It’s easier to do good work when the space around you feels fresh, maintained, and cared for. That’s where commercial cleaning comes in, our job isn’t just about wiping down surfaces or taking out the trash. It’s about creating spaces that help people feel better, think clearer, and work happier.
Whether it’s your laundry room or your breakroom, a clean space can change your entire day.
So, no laundry and I may never fall in love. It remains a weekly battle, and maybe one day I’ll have to add another day to the routine. But for now, I’ve found a rhythm that works. And with a little creativity, I’ve made peace with the process and my space feels better because of it.
And if that’s what a clean room can do at home, imagine what a consistently clean office can do for your team.
